'My work is a contemplation on material, process, and object metaphors that juxtaposes the medium of clay with industrial materials to create installations that speak of landscapes lost'
'I employ the medium of clay in unconventional ways to accent the metaphorical capacity of the medium to communicate a sense of memory, ephemerality, and loss.'
'to leave viewers questioning, perhaps considering the role they play in the landscapes that surround them.'
I like how Marianna uses a mix of different materials such as wood and clay .This gives of a very powerful message of how man made objects are destroying the beauty around us such as plants and trees by building suburban areas on-top of them. Marianna's technique of using slip and scrunching it reminded me of Gillian's pieces. Also the way she has positioned her work reminded me of Emma k as it almost looks like a forest of trees and links in with Emma's take on nature. Saoirse may also be inspired by Marianna's work.
